Divya comes from the coast. With roots deep in Karnataka’s shoreline communities, the ocean has always been personal.
A Google alumna and Northwestern graduate, she founded Baeru to build the missing accountability infrastructure for the blue economy.
She leads a technology-enabled frontline of coastal women who recover plastic directly from ocean waters.
Under her leadership, Baeru provides the AI-first traceability layer that bridges the gap between grassroots recovery and global compliance.
An Acumen Fellow, multi-year UN Women WEPs Award recipient, and Meaningful Business 100 honouree, Divya’s work is recognised by UNESCO Green Citizens and the Atal Innovation Mission, and was spotlighted at the IndiaAI Summit 2026 for its impact on climate-resilient livelihoods and verifiable circular supply chains.
